Intentionality is key. For me the theme of this year is making space…..for breath, for myself, for health, for sleep, for creativity, for boredom/nothingness. Just making more space.
Setting boundaries is so important for my self care. Unfortunately, I haven’t been the best with protecting myself and practicing self care by setting boundaries, specifically with family. This year has made it easy to create some sense of boundaries given the physical distancing we’ve experienced but in 2021 it will be necessary to set boundaries emotionally and mentally. Thanks for these reminders.
I hear you. I have experienced myself too loose and too tight with family often. It can be hard because they are usually the first ones that taught us by speech and/or embodied practice how to care or not care for ourselves in this way. However, we all get to start anew each moment. You’ll do what you need, no doubt.
I know for me it’s about trying to be intentional. Not trying to deal with things that make me feel emotionally drained. Also boundary setting for me has been huge and a way to practice self-care.
I hear that. A little intention and self preservation makes all the difference.
